Artist Residencies
The Halle Bernier is, above all, a place dedicated to artistic creation. Through its residency program, it supports artists and collectives exploring digital arts in various forms such as
interactive installations, visual arts, light, sound, video, artificial intelligence, immersive creation, virtual and augmented reality, hybrid practices, and more.
Dedicated to research, experimentation and production, the residencies provide artists with an environment that encourages the development of their projects. Depending on the residency format, participants benefit from a workspace, on-site accommodation, artistic support, and access to the Halle Bernier's equipment.
Each residency also offers an opportunity to engage with the local community. Artists are invited to meet local residents, schools, associations, businesses and cultural organisations, enriching their creative process while sharing it with a wide range of audiences. Workshops, artist talks, open studios and public events are an integral part of each residency.
At the end of the residency, each project is presented to the public through an open studio time, exhibition, installation, performance or any other format best suited to the artist's practice and project.
Open to both emerging and established artists, the Halle Bernier residency program aims to support contemporary creation, encourage artistic experimentation, and establish Montereau-Fault-Yonne as a place where art, technology and communities come together.
Open calls will be published throughout the year on this page. We invite you to visit it regularly to discover upcoming residency opportunities.

Collectif Scale
A permanent resident of Halle Bernier, the Scale collective has been developing installations at the intersection of art, light, and technology for over fifteen years. Founded by a group of friends united by a passion for DIY culture, Scale has evolved into an internationally acclaimed collective laboratory for artistic experimentation.
Through a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach, its members explore the relationships between sound and image, nature and technology, entertainment and art. Drawing equally from scientific research and popular culture, Scale creates immersive works that invite audiences to experience new forms of perception and interaction. Accessible yet resolutely forward-looking, their installations blur the boundaries between artistic expression, technological innovation, and shared experience.
